Lotto winner celebrates with tattoo
Millionaire Lotto winner Wayne Hughes will never forget his golden numbers after having them tattooed on his arm.
Mr Hughes, 34, collected a cheque for £1.1 million after scooping a share of the jackpot in Saturday's draw.
The shop worker, who plans to use his new fortune to treat loved ones and study IT at college, proudly showed off his new tattoo which says: "Sat 7th Aug, 2010" and "13, 16, 22, 25, 31, 39".
Mr Hughes, from Holyhead, Anglesey, found out late on Monday night that he was a winner in Saturday's draw after his mother checked his ticket and called him with the news.
He raced over to her house and "checked and double checked" his ticket on Teletext, he said at a press conference in Bangor today.
He added: "It was so late so I hid the ticket in an old CD box until the morning when I called Camelot. I still can't believe I am a winner, it seems completely unreal."
As well as moving out of his rented flat to buy a house, Mr Hughes, who is single and works as a section leader in a Wilkinson's store, is planning on buying gifts to treat family and friends.
He is also going to buy a new car and plans to study IT at university.
"Having this money means I can go and study without any worries about where the cash will come from." he said.
"I will still keep working at Wilkinson's - even if I look to reduce my hours while I study."
