A 52-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of murder after a man was stabbed to death on Boxing Day.

The victim, aged 64, was found with fatal injuries in Greenwich, south-east London, at about 2.10am.

He was pronounced dead at the scene on Luxfield Road.

A 52-year-old man was arrested nearby and is in police custody.

Met Police said the victim and suspect were known to each other but are not related.

"Next-of-kin have been informed but officers await formal identification," a spokesman said. " A post-mortem examination will take place in due course."
