Man admits acid attack on Southampton mother-of-six

A man has pleaded guilty to an acid attack on a mother-of-six which left her with severe injuries.

Geoffrey Midmore, 26, pleaded guilty to causing grievous bodily harm with intent at Southampton Crown Court.

His brother Billy Midmore, 22, pleaded not guilty to the same charge and his case was adjourned for a plea and case management hearing on January 15.

A provisional trial date was set for March 29.

Both men, who are from London but of no fixed address, were remanded in custody.

The charges relate to an attack in Southampton, Hampshire, on Carla Whitlock, 37, who suffered serious burns to her face, neck and arms and also lost the sight in one eye in the incident on September 18.
