Man admits girl's street assault
A man who punched a 16-year-old girl to the ground in an apparently random attack has admitted an assault charge, Scotland Yard has said.
Michael Ayoade, 34, appeared at Thames Magistrates' Court and pleaded guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
The girl was walking along near the Black Lion pub in High Street, Plaistow, east London, when he jogged up behind her and punched her in the head.
She immediately fell to the ground and was left sprawled across the pavement, suffering broken teeth.
Earlier this week police released CCTV footage of the attack, which happened at about 12.30pm on November 13.
Ayoade, of Greengate Street, Plaistow, was remanded in custody to appear at Inner London Crown Court on a date to be fixed.
