Man and woman killed in car crash

Two people have died and a third has been seriously injured in a two-car crash.

The man and the woman were killed in the collision between a Peugeot and a Mitsubishi at about 3.40pm today at Lensbrook, near Lydney, Gloucestershire.

Gloucestershire Police said the two occupants of the Peugeot, who police are still trying to identify, died at the scene.

"A woman in the Mitsubishi was airlifted to Frenchay Hospital in Bristol with life threatening injuries," a force spokesman said.

"Road closures are in place while a full collision investigation is carried out.

"Anyone who witnessed the collision but hasn't spoken to police should call 101, quoting incident 347 of December 27."
