A man has been arrested in connection with the alleged attempted murder of two police officers in a hit-and-run in Glasgow.

A male and female officer were seriously injured as they responded to a call in Banner Drive in the Knightswood area of the city on Sunday night.

A 28-year-old man has now been arrested in connection with the incident but it is believed officers are still pursuing other suspects.

Earlier, Police Scotland released an image of a man they are hunting.

The force warned people not to approach David McLean, 30, from Glasgow, as he may be dangerous.

Anyone who sees him should instead contact police immediately on 101 or alternatively contact Crimestoppers, where information can be given anonymously.

The arrested man is due to appear at Glasgow Sheriff Court on Monday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: "A 28-year-old man has been arrested and is presently detained in police custody in connection with the alleged attempted murder of two police officers in Banner Road, Knightswood, Glasgow, on Sunday October 23.

"A report will be submitted to the procurator fiscal."
