Man charged over basement body
A 32-year-old man will appear in court tomorrow charged with the murder of a father who was found dead in the basement of a house.
Baljit Singh's body was discovered at an address in Beeches Road, Rowley Regis, West Midlands, on New Year's Day after he went missing in the run-up to Christmas.
The 50-year-old, from Harborne, Birmingham, was reported missing after leaving his home on December 23 to collect a birthday cake for his son.
A post-mortem examination revealed he died as a result of head injuries and a knife wound to the neck.
West Midlands Police said Stuart Millership has been charged with the murder and will appear before Wolverhampton magistrates.
Millership, of no fixed abode, was arrested on New Year's Eve in Kingswinford, West Midlands.
A 27-year-old woman who arrested on suspicion of murder has been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
Two other people arrested on suspicion of car theft - a 28-year-old man and 23-year-old woman from Kingswinford - have both been released on police bail pending further inquiries.
The victim's family have been told of the latest developments, police said.
