Man charged over bomb hoax
A man will appear in court today charged with a bomb hoax offence following an incident at a leisure centre.
Suffolk Police said officers were called to the centre in Sudbury at around 9.45pm on Friday to reports that a man had made threats to a staff member and thrown a small ignited item into a room.
The item was extinguished immediately and no damage was caused or anyone injured.
James Hasler, 33, of Woodhall Road, Sudbury, has also been charged with production of a controlled class B drug (cannabis) and possession of a controlled class B drug (cannabis).
He has been remanded in custody and will appear at Bury St Edmunds Magistrates' Court today.
As part of their enquiries police cordoned off an address in Woodhall Road, Sudbury, which has now been lifted.
