A man is being questioned about terror offences at a London police station

A man has been arrested in the street on suspicion of terror offences, Scotland Yard said.

The 37-year-old was held after officers from the Counter Terrorism Command (SO15) swooped in west London at 11am.

He was arrested on suspicion of encouragement of terrorism contrary to Section 1 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

The suspect is in custody at a central London police station and is being detained under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act.
