Man in court over girl bus stabbing
A man accused of stabbing a 16-year-old girl to death on a bus is due to appear in court for a plea hearing.
Phillip Simelane, 22, is accused of murdering Christina Edkins as she travelled to school in Birmingham.
Christina, who attended Halesowen's Leasowes High School, was pronounced dead after being stabbed in the chest on the upper deck of a bus in Hagley Road at about 7.30am on March 7.
Simelane, from Walsall, is expected to appear before the Recorder of Birmingham, Judge William Davis QC, at the city's Crown Court.
