Man in court over murder of Dylan
A 21-year-old man has appeared in court charged with the murder of a three-year-old boy.
Dylan Crean was found with life-threatening injuries at a property in Albert Village, Swadlincote, on the Derbyshire-Leicestershire border, on Tuesday.
He was taken to Derby Royal Infirmary and later moved to the Queen's Medical Centre in Nottingham where he died on Wednesday afternoon.
Peter Gavin Cawser, the partner of Dylan's mother, appeared at Loughborough Magistrates' Court charged with the child's murder and two counts of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Dressed casually in a grey sweatshirt, he spoke only to confirm his name and address during the three-minute hearing.
Cawser, of Moira Road, Woodville, Swadlincote, was remanded in custody to appear at the same court by videolink at 2.45pm on Monday.
