Man to face school sex charges

A former member of school staff will go on trial today charged with a series of sex offences against pupils dating back more than 30 years.

Jonathan O'Brien, 55, of Fairfield Road, Bosham, West Sussex, denies 23 counts of indecent assault and five counts of gross indecency.

It is alleged he committed the offences between 1982 and 1988 on pupils aged 10 to 16 who attended schools in Oxfordshire and Worcestershire.

O'Brien will stand trial at Chichester Crown Court. The case, to be heard in front of Judge Robert Fraser, is expected to run until December 20.
