Murder probe after hotel body find

A murder investigation has been launched after a woman was found dead at hotel in a seaside town.

A man has been arrested in connection with the incident which occurred at the hotel in St Michael's Road, Bournemouth earlier today.

Dorset Police said they were alerted to reports of a "serious incident" on St Michael's Road at 12.30pm today.

At the hotel they discovered the body of the woman, who has not been identified.

Detective Inspector Stewart Balmer, of the major crime investigation team, said: "A murder investigation has been launched and is in its early stages.

"If anyone has any information about this incident I urge them to call Dorset Police at the earliest possible opportunity."

Witnesses and anyone with information should call Dorset Police in confidence on 101.
