Murder probe after woman stabbed

A murder investigation is under way after a young woman was found stabbed to death.

Police were called to a property in Eastdown Park, Lewisham, south east London at 5.50pm on Wednesday following concerns for the occupant of an address there.

Officers forced their way into the building and found the body of a 21-year-old woman. She had suffered suspected stab wounds, the Metropolitan Police said, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Her next of kin have been informed, but she has yet to be formerly identified. A post-mortem examination is also yet to be arranged.

Police said no arrests have been made, and ask witnesses or anyone with information about the incident to contact them on 0208 721 4805 or 101, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
