New entry is chart-topper for Kesha
American singer Kesha has stormed into the UK singles chart with a new entry, knocking Bruno Mars off the top spot.
The pop star's single, We R Who We R, looked set to go straight to number one from the middle of the week, outselling Mars's Grenade by 20%.
The track, from her double album Animal and Cannibal, is Kesha's first UK number one after her last single Take It Off reached number 15 last August.
We R Who We R pushed Mars into second place just a week after he became the first solo male artist to top both the singles and album chart since Mika in 2007.
His album Doo-wops and Hooligans also dropped into second place in the album chart.
Kesha fought off competition from a new entry by Chase and Status featuring Liam Bailey, whose song Blind Faith charted at number five.
Chris Brown's Yeah 3x was the third highest new entry, coming in at 10, while Pink saw her single F**kin' Perfect rocket up the charts from 105 to 21.
It was also a good week for soul singer Adele, who had three singles in the top 40 as well as a chart-topping new album.
Rolling in the Deep, the opening single from her newly-released 21, dropped from second to third place while last year's single Make You Feel My Love was up to 15th. New entry Someone Like You came in at 36.
Her new album 21 went straight to number one while her 2008 album 19 also went up to fourth place.
