This weekend will be the busiest of the year for online dating, it has been estimated.

Women aged 30 and 25-year-old men are the most likely to log on to try to find a partner, according to relationship site eHarmony.

Communications between members of the site are expected to pass a million in January as people start to think about the new year.

Jemima Wade, of eHarmony, said: "Over the festive period it's easy to lose track of your love life while surrounded by friends and family.

"As people step into 2016 and begin to re-evaluate their priorities, we see a significant uplift in people coming to the site."
