Olympic site protest: Four in court
Four people are to appear in court charged with public order offences after police evicted protesters opposed to the building of an Olympic basketball training facility.
Three men and a woman were arrested on Tuesday as Scotland Yard officers removed up to 30 people blocking access to the site on Leyton Marsh, east London.
Police and bailiffs arrived on the site after a High Court official last week granted a possession order to the Lee Valley Regional Park Authority.
A Metropolitan Police spokesman said Simon Carleton, 29, Daniel Ashman, 27, Anita Olivacce, 25 and Connor Murray, 24, were each accused of breaching the Public Order Act.
They were remanded in custody and will appear at Thames Magistrates Court.
The site for development is a temporary venue and the Olympic Delivery Authority (ODA) must get the land back to its previous state by mid-October.
