Olympic torch boards Cambridge punt

The Olympic torch has taken a trip on board a punt in the university town of Cambridge.

Hundreds of people braved the rain as they lined the banks and bridges of the River Cam to catch a glimpse of the flame on its way to the London Games.

Cambridge local, 26-year-old Edward Roberts, held the golden torch aloft as he floated past historic St John's College, the ornate Bridge of Sighs and verdant weeping willows.

Mr Roberts was selected to carry the flame for his volunteering and community work with Linkline, SexYOUality and the Cambridge and District Community Mediation Service.

The 51st day of the relay started in the university town and will finish in Luton.
