‘Over half of workers’ have sought new jobs due to boredom at work

Just over half of those surveyed said they had looked for another job because of a “dull” work life.

Almost half of people are bored at work, often because they do the same thing every day or do not actually like their job, a study has found.

Other gripes include tedious tasks and working alone, a survey of 1,200 adults by jobs site CV-Library reveals.

Just over half of those surveyed said they had looked for another job because of a “dull” work life.

Lee Biggins, managing director of CV-Library, said: “With so much of our adult lives spent in work, ensuring that you get passion and enjoyment from your career is of paramount importance.

“Prolonged boredom in a job can lead very quickly to burnout, low productivity and a high turnover of staff for businesses, so it’s extremely important that each and every employee in a company feels engaged in their day-to-day work.”
