Pair arrested after fatal stabbing

Two men have been arrested on suspicion of the murder of a man who died after he was found with a stab wound to his chest.

Police were called by the ambulance service at 11.25pm on Friday to reports that a man had been stabbed at an address in Appledore in Great Hollands, Bracknell, Berkshire.

A Thames Valley Police spokesman said: "Officers and paramedics attended and discovered a man in his 20s with a stab wound to his chest. Despite treatment at the scene, he was pronounced dead a short time later."

Two men, aged 31 and 42, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and remain in police custody.

Detective Chief Inspector Vince Grey, senior investigating officer, said: "The investigation is still in an early stage, however we do have two men in custody and a number of inquiries are under way.

"I would like to reassure residents that a full investigation is taking place and incidents such as this are rare in Bracknell. We also believe the victim knew his attackers and this was not a stranger attack."
