Pc to be sentenced over images

A police constable from Scotland Yard's diplomatic protection group (DPG) will be sentenced today for sharing obscene images using his mobile phone.

James Addison, 37, last month pleaded guilty to 11 counts of publishing an obscene article under the Obscene Publications Act after he distributed the moving images last year.

The officer from the elite police squad will appear on bail at Westminster Magistrates' Court in central London at 10am today.

Addison, from Rayleigh in Essex, now faces an internal misconduct investigation and remains suspended, a Scotland Yard spokesman said.
