Pippa's engagement ring is grotesque: Janet Street-Porter
Janet Street-Porter has hit out at Pippa Middleton's "grotesque" engagement ring.
The Loose Women panellist was discussing the ring, which the bride-to-be showed off on Tuesday, with her co-hosts.
Street-Porter (69) said wearing a ring was "out of date" and likened it to being "handcuffed".
She added: "Why waste the money on the ring? Looking at it another way, that ring is valued at between £200,000 and £250,000, and I think that's grotesque in this day and age, especially if your sister is married to a member of the royal family. I think that's really, really vulgar."
Four-times divorced Street-Porter suggested the money would have been put to better use if it had been donated to charity.
Middleton (32) announced her engagement to hedge fund manager James Matthews earlier this week.
