PM to talk with Mideast leaders

David Cameron will hold talks with key players in the Middle East peace process when he visits Israel and the Palestinian territories this week.

The Prime Minister is to meet Israeli counterpart Benjamin Netanyahu and deliver a keynote speech to the Knesset after arriving in the area on Wednesday.

He will also discuss the situation with Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas during his two-day trip.

Mr Cameron went to Israel while in Opposition, but this will be his first visit since entering Downing Street.

He had been due to travel to the area last month, but the trip was put off as winter storms battered Britain.

There had been speculation he may be forced to postpone again due to a strike by workers at the Israeli Foreign Ministry.
