Police appeal for jogger who barged woman into path of bus gets ‘good response’
A woman was lucky to escape serious injury after the bus driver swerved to avoid her on Putney Bridge.
Police are following a number of lines of enquiry in their hunt for a jogger who knocked a woman pedestrian into the path of a bus.
Officers said they have received a “good response” to their appeal, after releasing CCTV footage showing the man barging into the 33-year-old.
The woman was lucky to escape serious injury after the bus driver swerved to avoid her on Putney Bridge in south west London.
The Metropolitan Police said the bus stopped and passengers tended to the woman – who received minor injuries – following the incident on Friday, May 5 at about 7.40am.
Officers said the jogger ran the other way across the bridge around 15 minutes later and the victim attempted to speak to him, but “he did not acknowledge her”.
Police said they are continuing to appeal for information.
The jogger is described as a white man, aged early to mid 30s, with brown eyes and short brown hair. He was wearing a light grey t-shirt and dark blue shorts.
