Police helicopter helps rescue two stranded children
The PSNI helicopter was scrambled to help rescue two children stranded on Black Mountain.
The youngsters from Gortnamonagh in west Belfast, aged eight and 11, were shepherded to safety in a 90-minute operation.
The helicopter was called out after one of the children made an emergency call on his mobile phone. However, it was unable to land on the mountain due to the steep and treacherous terrain.
An eyewitness said officers on board were unable to winch the boys up yesterday, but were successful in directing them to a rescue team on the ground, who brought them to safety.
