Post Office strike called off

A planned strike by workers who deliver cash to Post Offices has been called off.

Members of the Communication Workers Union were due to walk out for 48 hours from today in a row over jobs

A joint statement said: "Following productive talks between the Post Office and the CWU, we are pleased to confirm that the CWU has called off the strikes planned for 23 and 24 December.

"Both sides will be meeting over the next few days and further progress will be reported. Until that point, the details of the talks will remain confidential."
