Racer Guy Martin's world record speed bid postponed in US
Motorcycle racer Guy Martin's quest to set a new two-wheeled world land speed record has been called off.
The attempt, on the purpose-built 400mph Triumph Infor Rocket Streamliner, has suffered a number of setbacks at Bonneville Salt Flats, in Utah, USA.
The racer with Moneymore-based TAS Racing was involved in a crash during one run when the bike lost traction on a damp section of the salt.
Last week, the motorcycle tipped over as it was being towed to the start line. And rain has meant it is not currently possible to create the consistency across the 11-mile course needed for the attempt, which has been postponed until a later date.
