Rooney to miss game as baby is due

Wayne Rooney will miss Manchester United's final game of the season as wife Coleen is due to give birth to the couple's second child.

The 27-year-old England striker was given permission by the Premier League winners to sit out the trip to play West Bromwich Albion.

Coleen, 27, is expecting a boy - a brother to Kai born in November 2009 - and revealed on her Twitter account that she was now past her due date.

She told one of her one million-plus followers that her due date was Saturday.

She later tweeted: "Such an uncomfortable sleep last night!!! #hurryupbaby Looks like its gonna be a nice day today!! Enjoy x"

Her husband's future at Old Trafford is in doubt after he asked for a transfer recently.

He is also set to miss retiring manager Sir Alex Ferguson's last match in charge of Manchester United as the team travel to The Hawthorns.
