Samantha Thomas and 10-month-old son, from Kent, found after police search

A young mother and her baby son who were reported missing on Christmas Eve have been found "safe and well", police said.

Samatha Thomas, 24, from Sheerness, Kent, was last seen at 10.30am on Christmas Eve when she set out with her 10-month-old son, who was not named, to buy clothes from a Tesco on the Isle of Sheppey.

Kent constabulary appealed for help in tracing Ms Thomas and released a picture of the young mother.

A spokesman for Kent Police said: "A woman reported missing with her young child on Christmas Eve, from the Sheerness area, has now been found.

"Both the woman and child are safe and well. Thanks to everyone for your cooperation with the appeal."
