Search for missing teenager goes on

The search for a teenager missing for more than two weeks is continuing after police focused investigations on a property 60 miles away from her home.

Hazel North, 19, was last seen by her sister on March 4 when she said she was travelling from her home in the Cairneyhill area of Dunfermline to meet a friend in Kilmarnock.

She has not contacted her family since, police said.

Forensic teams spent yesterday searching a flat and garden in Northcraig Road, Kilmarnock and officers carried out door-to-door inquiries.

A force spokeswoman said "police activity" is continuing in the area today with inquiries continuing in Kilmarnock and Dunfermline.

Ms North is 5ft 8in tall, with a slim build, a fair complexion and shoulder-length blonde hair.

Police are appealing for anyone with information or who may have seen Ms North since March 4 to contact them on 101.
