A second body has been discovered by police investigating the disappearance of two teenagers off the Welsh coast.

Yahye Mohamed, 14, and 15-year-old Waseem Muflahi vanished after going for a swim off Barmouth beach in North Wales last weekend.

Police said a body believed to be that of Waseem was found in the sea on Saturday afternoon, off the coast at Sunny Sands and Cae Daniel, near Llanaber in south Gwynedd.

The body of Yahye was discovered on Friday and formally identified by his family.

The boys were part of a large group visiting the beach from Birmingham, on an outing reportedly organised by members of the Yemeni community.

A North Wales Police spokesman said the deaths were not being treated as suspicious.

"Shortly after 2.10pm today North Wales Police and other emergency services including the Barmouth inshore lifeboat attended a location on the coastline between Sunny Sands and Cae Daniel, near Llanaber in south Gwynedd where they recovered the body of a male from the sea.

"He was pronounced dead at the scene and is yet to be formally identified however police have notified the family of missing teenager Waseem Muflahi.

"North Wales Police are not treating his death as suspicious and the matter will be passed to the coroner."
