Singer Cave in speed camera crash
Singer Nick Cave and his twin sons walked away unharmed after he crashed his car into a speed camera.
The 53-year-old musician was behind the wheel of a Jaguar saloon when it collided with the speed camera and a roadside barrier on Tuesday night, sources said.
Sussex Police said the crash happened at 7pm on the eastbound carriageway at Kingsway in Hove, East Sussex, close to where Australian-born Cave lives.
No other vehicles were involved and Cave was not arrested but police inquiries are continuing.
Sussex Police said in a statement: "Police were called to Kingsway, Hove, at 7pm on Tuesday 7 December, after a Jaguar saloon car driven by a 53-year old Hove man had collided with a speed camera and roadside barrier on the eastbound carriageway.
"The man and his two 10-year-old sons who were in the car were unhurt. No other vehicles or people were involved.
"The camera belongs to the Sussex Safer Roads Partnership, not the police, and the railings belong to the local highway authority.
"Both agencies were informed. Nobody has been arrested but police inquiries are continuing."
A spokeswoman for Cave said they were making no comment.
