Police are investigating reports of a teenage girl carrying a firearm through a town centre.

West Mercia Police warned anyone who spots the girl, thought to be in her mid-to-late teens, not to approach her but to call 999.

An area around the High Street in Droitwich, Worcestershire, was sealed off after police were alerted at about 6.20pm tonight.

A police spokesman said she was described as white with short light brown hair, and wearing a pink T-shirt.

The affected area has now reopened but officers are continuing searches.
