Teenager charged with murder of celebrity minder
A man has been charged with the murder of a celebrity minder who was stabbed to death.
Tommy Roome, 19, has been charged with the murder of Ricky Hayden during an attack outside his home in Chadwell Heath, east London.
Scotland Yard said he was also charged with the attempted murder of Mr Hayden's father, Paul, 54, who was injured in the same attack in the early hours of September 13.
The victims had apparently confronted a gang of up to four men who were attempting to steal a moped after hearing a disturbance outside their home.
Ricky Hayden, 27, was taken to hospital where he later died of his injuries.
The Havering Council employee had also worked in security at ITV and acted as a bodyguard for high-profile celebrities including footballer Peter Crouch and model Abbey Clancy.
Roome, from Romford, remains in custody and will appear at Barkingside Magistrates' Court on Friday September 23.
A 19-year-old who was arrested on September 14 remains on bail until later this month. A 16-year-old who was arrested on the same date and later bailed faces no further action, police said.
