Third youth killed in crash named

A third teenager to die after a car hit a tree has been named by police.

George Forester, 17, from Chippenham in Wiltshire, died in hospital on Saturday.

The accident happened shortly after 1am on Friday when a red Renault Clio left the road and hit a tree at Rowde, near Devizes, Wilts. It happened close to the entrance to Rowdeford School on the A342.

Last night two passengers killed in the incident were named by police as Frankie Bowyer, 16, and 17-year-old Jamie Walker, both also from Chippenham.

Frankie, of St Teresa's Drive, was declared dead at the scene and Jamie, of Hatherell Road, was airlifted to Swindon's Great Western Hospital but later died.

Earlier today Frankie's paid tribute today to their "dearly beloved boy".

In a statement they said: "Frankie lived life to the full. A popular friend to all that knew him, he will be sorely missed by his family and friends.

"His mother and father, three sisters, young niece, as well as his extended family, will all miss him dreadfully. We naturally wish to extend our condolences and prayers to the families of the others involved in this tragic accident."

The family also asked that they be given the time and space to mourn in private.

The 20-year-old driver of the Clio was also injured and taken to hospital for treatment.
