A toddler was one of 33 people treated by paramedics after a chemical leak in a holiday park swimming pool.

Police, fire and ambulance crews were called to Wild Duck Holiday Park in Belton, near Great Yarmouth, Norfolk, yesterday afternoon.

Officers evacuated the area and put a cordon in place while emergency services dealt with the incident.

The park is run by the holiday chain Haven and set within trees and lakes.

Haven Holidays spokesman Tom Cassidy said a three-year-old was among the injured and that 33 "walking wounded" had been evacuated and taken to three hospitals as a precaution.

Mr Cassidy added: "Obviously, the park is now in lockdown while they try and source the chemical leak."

Some victims suffered breathing problems, but none was thought to be in a serious condition.

Eight of the people injured were taken to the James Paget Hospital in Norfolk.

All of the affected people were yesterday said to be in a stable condition.
