Two men held in park murder probe

Two men have been arrested in connection with the murder of a vulnerable man in a park.

James Attfield, 33, was found dead near Castle Park in Colchester, Essex, on March 29.

Mr Attfield, who had a brain injury after being hit by a car four years ago, had been at the River Lodge pub in the hours before his death.

A post-mortem examination found he had been stabbed more than 100 times.

Essex Police said the two men, both aged 33, have also been arrested on suspicion of involvement in another attack on a footpath near Leisure World in Colchester at around 2am on Saturday.

They are being held at Colchester police station.
