Ukip's Nigel Farage fury over 'scum' protesters in pub
Nigel Farage has branded anti-Ukip protesters "scum" after they invaded a pub where he was having a family Sunday lunch.
The Ukip leader was apparently with his wife and two younger children at the Queen's Head in Downe, Kent, when dozens of demonstrators are said to have chased the Farages out and jumped on his car bonnet as he drove away.
Mr Farage said: "I hope these 'demonstrators' are proud of themselves. My children were so scared that they ran away to hide.
"These people are scum."
Mr Farage's children, aged 10 and 15, were later returned home.
However, a protest organiser said Mr Farage was on his own at the time.
