UN gives Bond new mission
James Bond actor Daniel Craig has been given a special new mission.
UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has appointed him as the first global advocate for the Elimination of Mines and Explosive Hazards. Mr Ban thanked Craig for his commitment to support a world free from the threat of land mines and explosive remnants of war: "Along with movie-goers worldwide, I have been on the edge of my seat watching Mr Craig, as James Bond, defuse ticking time bombs with seconds to spare," said Mr Ban.
"I am even more excited that he has agreed to use his star power to draw attention to the causes of mine destruction and awareness."
