University suspends lecturer over teenager's death
The University of London has suspended Brian Dodgeon, a member of its research staff, following the death of 15-year-old Isobel Reilly at a party at his west London home in the early hours of Saturday.
Mr Dodgeon (60), a lecturer at the university's Institute of Education, has been suspended on full pay with immediate effect.
The lecturer was held by police on suspicion of child abandonment and possessing drugs following the death of the teenager, who had taken a cocktail of illegal substances including ecstasy.
The academic was bailed to a date in June.
Detectives are investigating the possibility that the group found the drugs, including ecstasy and ketamine, in the house during the unsupervised party at the property, on Barlby Road, Kensington.
The friends called 999 at around 4am, when Isobel stopped breathing.
A post-mortem examination will be carried out today.
