Vehicle driven into custody suite
A man has been arrested after a car was repeatedly driven into a police custody suite.
Sussex Police said the Nissan Micra was driven into the front of Chichester custody suite "at least twice".
The incident caused extensive damage to the entrance to the building and firefighters have been at the scene to ensure it remains structurally safe and to stem leakage from the vehicle.
A 38-year-old man, of no fixed address, was not injured and has been arrested for criminal damage, drink driving and driving while disqualified.
A police spokesman said: "It was fortunate that no one was in the entrance at the time.
"The door is off its hinges and there is extensive damage to the frame and glass.
"The custody suite is still operating as normal and this is where the man is being questioned."
