Voters go to polls in by-election
Voters are going to the polls in the Bradford West by-election.
Labour, which has held the seat since 1974, comfortably retained it at the last general election with an increased majority of 5,763.
The party's candidate, deputy council leader and barrister Imran Hussain, is the bookies' favourite to hang on.
Among his challengers is Respect's George Galloway - the maverick anti-war former MP - who has been looking for a way back to Westminster since giving up his Bethnal Green and Bow seat and failing to win another constituency in 2010.
He is hoping to make an impact, despite his party only finishing fifth at the general election.
The Conservatives, who were second at the general election, are fielding local businesswoman Jackie Whiteley, while the Liberal Democrats, who were third, are represented by their council group leader Jeanette Sunderland.
Ukip's candidate is a former Green Party member, Sonja McNally.
The full candidates list is Neil Craig (Democratic Nationalists); George Galloway (Respect); Howling Laud Hope (Monster Raving Loony William Hill Party); Imran Hussain (Lab); Dawud Islam (Green); Sonja McNally (UKIP); Jeanette Sunderland (Lib Dem); and Jackie Whiteley (Con).
