Weekend set to be windy and wet... then some sunshine
Some sunshine is on the horizon at last, but only after another blustery, cool and wet weekend.
Forecasters said that while there would be a mix of rain and wind today, Northern Ireland would experience a bout of high pressure next week that should drive temperatures as high as 17C.
The expert added: "It is going to be cool today and there will be some showers.
"Later in the week, depending on the sunshine, you could get some parts where it will rise up to 17C."
But it will be nothing like the mini-heatwave predicted for parts of Britain, where forecasters have tipped today to be the hottest day of the year so far.
Temperatures are expected to hit as high as 22C in London and in southern parts of England.
