A woman has been arrested on suspicion of fundraising for the purpose of terrorism.

The 42-year-old was detained by counter-terrorism officers at a residential address in west London this morning, Scotland Yard said.

She was taken to a central London police station where she remains in custody.

A Metropolitan Police spokesman added: "Officers are searching the address. I nquiries continue."

Meanwhile, a 25-year-old woman arrested in Bedfordshire in October on suspicion of preparation of terrorist acts will face no further action.

She was due to return on police bail this month but Scotland Yard said that after officers consulted with the Crown Prosecution Service, she has now been released without charge.
