A mother-of-four accused of biting off her boyfriend's testicles will face trial in October.
Maria Topp, 43, is alleged to have attacked Martin Douglas at his Newcastle flat at 4am on February 18. He required emergency hospital treatment for his injuries.
Topp, of Aycliffe Place, Wrekenton, Gateshead, appeared before Judge Esmond Faulks at Newcastle Crown Court. She spoke only to answer her name during the brief hearing, during which a date for trial was set.
She has denied grievous bodily harm.
Her three-day trial will be held in the week beginning October 24. She was granted conditional bail.
