A woman died on Christmas Day after being hit by a car whose driver failed to stop.

Angela McGregor, 48, was struck by a Volkswagen Golf in Love Street, Paisley, Renfrewshire, on the evening of December 23.

She was taken to the Royal Alexandra Hospital where she died two days later.

Police said the driver was traced after the incident which occurred just before 8pm near the junction with Albion Street.

Officers are now appealing for witnesses.

Sergeant Mark Miller said: "The investigation into this fatal crash is continuing and I would urge any witnesses, or anyone with information that may assist police enquiries, to contact Police Scotland on 101."
