Woman held after man found dead

A woman has been arrested after an elderly man was found dead.

Police were called by a member of the public to Kirkley Run, Lowestoft, Suffolk, at about 8.50pm yesterday.

They found a man, believed to be in his 80s, with serious injuries. Paramedics tried to save him but he died at the scene.

A 52-year-old woman from the town has been arrested on suspicion of murder.

A Suffolk Police spokesman said: "She was arrested at the scene and has been taken to Great Yarmouth Police investigation centre where she is currently being interviewed by detectives.

"A cordon is in place at the property whilst officers carry out an investigation."

Some road closures are in place while investigations continue.

Witnesses should contact Suffolk Police on 101.
