Woman restrained after 'trying to enter cockpit on transatlantic BA flight'

A woman has been restrained on board a transatlantic British Airways flight after "trying to enter the cockpit".

Massachusetts State Police said the woman was detained in the air on flight BA 213.

The police force said on Twitter that officers were at Boston's Logan International Airport "to take custody of the restrained passenger" and investigate the incident.

Police later said the woman was "intoxicated" and tried to open the exit door, rather than the cockpit.

There was "no known nexus to terrorism", police added.
