A woman has been jailed for two years after she sent five boys naked photos and videos of a sexual nature through Facebook.

Gail Wright (44) groomed the teenagers, who were all aged 14 and 15 when she first met them in 2015, the court found.

It was also heard that she had a sexual relationship with one of the boys.

The woman was caught after the explicit photos were spotted by a parent, BBC reports.

The court heard how Gail Wright, of Elmtree Close in Shireoaks, Nottinghamshire, struck up a friendship with the first boy, who "felt he could talk to her about things".

The relationship became more intense and she began to send him naked photos of herself and making sexually explicit comments.

She then began to send photos and videos of herself to the group of boys.

The court also heard how she bought one of them Nike Air trainers and clothes for his 16th birthday after she began a sexual relationship with him.

Wright pleaded guilty to one count of sexual activity with a child, two of possessing indecent images of a child and four of causing a child to look at images of sexual activity.

During the investigation, officers found 42 photographs on her iPad which she had sent to the boys.

Det Insp Pete Quinn from Nottinghamshire Police said: "This was an unusual case in that the perpetrator was a woman.

"But this goes to show that although the overwhelming majority of sexual exploitation cases brought to the attention of police are perpetrated by men against girls, we cannot be complacent about the fact that it can happen to anyone, anywhere."

Wright must sign the sex offenders register for 10 years.
