Woman's body found in woodland

Police investigating the disappearance of a young woman confirmed they have found a body.

Frankie Warren was last seen at her home in Thornbury, South Gloucestershire, earlier this week.

Worried relatives raised the alarm on Wednesday evening after the 26-year-old failed to show up for work as expected.

Her family described her disappearance as totally out of character but police said they were concerned for Ms Warren's welfare as she had recently been "upset and unwell".

Avon and Somerset Police said the body of a woman was found in woodland in the Sedgeley area of the West Midlands on Friday night.

Around 24 hours previously, Ms Warren's silver Honda Civic had been discovered nearby. Officers later deployed sniffer dogs in their search operation.

Police said they did not have details about whether or not a formal identification had been carried out but added that Ms Warren's family had been notified of the development.

Her death is not being treated as suspicious.
